Madre Verónica
Short version (3 min.)
“An eternal thanks”
2010, after years of searching and a profound internal journey, Mother Verónica founded Iesu Communio, a contemplative community approved by Pope Benedict XVI. It was a new beginning and a declaration of intense faith and absolute love for Jesus Christ.
Her journey began at age 18 when she entered the Clarissian convent in Lerma, Burgos. However, she soon realized that her path was different, though she was always to serve in consecrated life.
Upon learning of Iesu Communio’s vision, the Foundation showed exceptional commitment by offering a repayable loan to support its creation. Mother Verónica was convinced that accepting this aid was essential for the community’s present and future.
Sister Paloma, who personally knew Luis Valls, highlights how he was always willing to offer advice and support, even when he could not help directly. “True goodness radiates to everyone around,” Sister Paloma said.
Madre Verónica emphasizes that if she could speak with Luis Valls today, “she would embrace him and say an eternal thanks.” His support and love have been fundamental to the life of Iesu Communio. Even today, his legacy continues to illuminate and guide the community.
